Spring Cleaning Tips For Homeowners

Spring is one of the seasons we all look forward to, but nobody looks forward to spring cleaning. But as a good homeowner, this is something that we need to do to keep our house in the best shape. Here are some tips to make it as efficient and as fruitful as possible.

1. Work From Top to Bottom

When cleaning your home always work from the upstairs going downstairs. This way, the dust and dirt won't go about rotating in your house and having to do the cleaning all over again.

2. Check Stuff That You Need to Let Go

Go through your closet and take out the things you have not used for more than a year or those that you and your family have outgrown. Whether its clothes, toys, shoes or books, tidy them up in a box and decide if you can sell them up in a yard sale or donate them to charity.

3. Deep Clean Everything

Your carpet, sofas and bed mattress need thorough cleaning at least twice a year to keep them free from bugs and insects and also to keep them in their best shape so that you can use them for many more years to come. If you can't do it, hiring a professional to do it for you will be worth every penny.

4. Brighten Up the House

Spring is all about colors. It’s time to change curtains and bed covers to something more bright and joyful. Flowers are also a great way to set up the mood and smell for your house. Also wipe clean shades, globes and bulbs. This will make them appear to shine brighter.

5. Do It With the Family

Don't do this all by yourself. Spring cleaning is also a great bonding time for the whole family. Engage everyone to participate even it the smallest of the chores. Even if it's tiring, it will be all worth it once you see your home clean and beautiful.
